The Great Outdoor Fight

Are you following it?

If you're not, you're dead to me.

Hi

I do exist.

I'm neck-deep in valuing myself and reaching out to low-income children and making Richard Jackson's job sound like something all MLIS students will want to do.

And I haven't seen my husband in a week.

I'll be back someday.

Off to the East

And so, it came to pass that Corinne did venture into the wilds east of the Mississippi river. East of the Rockies, even, since I don't get far out of California nowadays. Anywho, it's off to New York for a weekend of family fun and frolic and birthdays and soccer games and CARVEL ICE CREAM CAKES.

And?

I just scored a week's vacation at the end of the month. w00t! Because otherwise? I will totally never finish my major paper on time. Days in the library! In the stacks! The smell! The feel! All while sleeping in my own bed at night.

Some vacation, eh? Perhaps I should plan something more entertaining for one day.

Snack Dogs

From today's Dooce...Chocolate cat indeed.

I want a neighbor who puts yaks on his lawn.

But not if it means moving to Utah.

Just Call Me DeNiro

Because I think I'm going to be swept up in a tornado of paper any time now. I'm neck deep in research for the eleventy billion papers I have due in the next two(!) weeks. Really, I'm down to four now. I wrote the one I forgot about this morning. I remembered that I might actually LIKE to write, and if my grades are any reflection, I might be pretty okay at it, too. Scholarly writing isn't my strongest suit, and APA format makes me sweat, but all things considered I'm doing okay. Putting everything into a coherent format is going slower than I'd like, and most of the topics are not riveting - stupid Foundations class and its grand overview of library land. But I'm plugging along and of course saving the hardest ones for last.

So, off I go to spout brilliant observations on managing Generation X library employees.

God I love this.
