Gastric Bypass = Brain Bypass?

I have a theory.

Gastric bypass surgery makes you go insane.

I think there should be a study about the psychological effects of the surgery on recipients. Everyone I know that has had it has gone completely off the deep end, to the point that marriages are ruined.

I don't get it - you were obese, unhealthy and unhappy and hated yourself. You have a partner who loved you in spite of that. You get a new body and suddenly that commitment doesn't matter. That's so unfair.

I think mandatory therapy should be a part of the recovery process...it's obvious that the majority of people can't deal with the changes rationally on their own.

Ugh.
