Scalp = Fiery

Sometimes when you think something might be a bad idea, you're right.

Take, for instance, my hair-coloring debacle of Sunday. Eight hours of dyeing, which, as I started, seemed like a bad idea.

Boy, I had no idea how right I was.

Lessons learned:
'Born Blonde' haircolor must be made for those who were born blonde, not the brunettes who think 'I can do blonde at home'.
Brunettes cannot do blonde at home.
Brunettes who try end up with trailer trash orange-blonde hair.
I will pay $200 for someone to make me a blonde next time.

Morgan made a valiant effort to save my hair - but, in the end I had to dye it back. And by the third dye job I was asphyxiating on the ammonia fumes and weeping from the searing pain the dye was inflicting on my poor scalp.

I am now somewhere between strawberry and ash blonde. I like it.

But my scalp freakin' hurts.

You poor thing!!. I try to bathe my head in strong bases as little as possible.
Then again, I'm a natural blonde so it really doesn't come up too often. Now hitting myself on the head with a hammer? That fuckin' happens all the time.

Try coating your scalp in aloe for as many hours as you can. It will soothe and heal your scalp faster. If you can find a gel with some benzocain in it (like for sunburn) that can help too. Try it on a small area to make sure it doesn't irritate you further. If it doesn't hurt, go for it.
