Words that Don't Exist
I guess if anyone can make up words, its an information professional. Or a linguist.
But really - ofness? Aboutness? Come on.
I could accept it if I didn't have to think too much about it, but when I have to write a paper and repeatedly use those words? It really bothers me.
Bah.
Back to it, then.

There are lots of words which I don't believe exist but somehow, someway, they wiggle into usage and then (since dictionaries and so on to some extent follow usage rather than dictating it) suddenly they're real. Like alright (which used to be alwrong). Or disinterested meaning uninterested. Or, well, I could go on.
