So, is this a nationwide problem?

New York may ban iPods while crossing street

The lawmaker is quoted: "It's becoming a nationwide problem."

Somehow the fact that a New York state senator has time to concern himself with something as trivial as whether people are walking into the sides of buses because they can't be bothered to look up is disconcerting.

Let them get killed, I say. If they're too oblivious to look both ways before crossing the street they deserve what they get.

Because really? I'm pretty sure the NYPD has better things to do than ticket pedestrians.
