For Morgan.
From Chris Onstad's blog.
Sunflower seeds
Recently I have been tucking a few sunflower seeds into my cheek while working. I cannot think of another snacking item that is so socially divisive as these seeds. They constantly require one to noisily spit small bits of wood from one's mouth, and contain so much sodium as to make one's face bloated and unseemly, so that in just a matter of days one bears resemblance to a George Washington who's gone a round in the ring with Tyson. Particularly if one wears a baldiwig and silk knickers, as I do.
No one enjoys my new habit of eating sunflower seeds.
I like sunflower seeds, too.

Back to School?!
Yes, it's true.
I am an intern with Phil Hettema and Associates.
No thanks to Dick Lamberski, who told me I was a pain in the ass. But that he loved me anyway.
He doesn't know me from Adam.
Fucker.

INK!
Chris gets her tattoo tomorrow!
I have it on my desk RIGHT NOW.
It looks pretty good on my ankle, too.

You do that Voodoo...
Today's dilemma...
How do I describe what I do at work? I'm having a hell of a time putting it into writing.

Octopus Tee Update
Vic has pointed out that I seem to have a recent obsession with the cephalopod.
So, to go along with that - an update on my t-shirt.
They start shipping 24 May. (I prefer the European style of date-writing of late)
So far away...but just in time for San Francisco!
Watch out, world - here I come - with CEPHALOPODS!
Ah, Spring
And another dog school class is over - advanced class number 3 for those who are counting. And the last one for awhile. It's time to enjoy spring and not spend one night a week in class that takes 3 hours round-trip.
It's going to be 80 degrees all weekend. I'm so happy - no more rain!! I hope.
Okay, enough babble.
Off to troll teh intarweb.

Best Line Today (so far)
I don’t remember what Joey Bishop’s version sounded like – probably played entirely by second violins.
From The Bleat - where else?
It's in reference to the opening credits of Ocean's Eleven.

From Today's Bleat.
We tried Sea Monkeys the other day, but they didn’t come to life. Just as well. I would have been tempted to put some in the Ant Farm to see if the ants would fight the brine shrimp, or perhaps cross-breed in some unholy experiment that would create socially-organized amphibious insects.
How I wish Lileks had actually done this.
Another Monday
Gene and Chris are sailing the high seas this week...that makes for lonely times on AIM. This means I might have to actually *gasp* - WORK?!?!?
Oh wait - no it doesn't - I have a whole pile of new magazines to read. And a billion stupid things to do for my internship, which is really starting to chap my ass. But I just have to suck it up and deal if I'm ever going to get that piece of paper.
All to be a librarian...it had better be worth it.
However, if Saraya really moves ahead, I'm not going anywhere for the next three years. I'll be damned if I don't see this project finished while I still work here. Of course, it'll probably take that long to get my MLS. So, it should all work out perfectly - 'should' being the operative word in that sentence.
In other news, Morgan and I went to see Crash yesterday. Fine piece of cinema, it was. I laughed, I cried - some people in the theatre screamed. No plot, full of the worst of the racial/ethnic stereotypes. And based in our town, the City of Angels.
Highly recommended.
Morgan and I had a lovely day together - they are few and far between, unfortunately...and I can't wait for when every weekend is like that. Then we'll totally be sick of each other, probably. I'll just send him off to shoot guns with Gene.

Today's Health Fact
A healthy couple in their mid-20s having regular sex have about a one-in-four chance of conceiving in a given month.
Fascinating.
So Sleepy
Weather makes me tired - and the prospect of rain does nothing to help.
Nap time!
I'm a CAAAAAAAKE!

Quote of the Day
When actress Diane Farr's engagement went bad, she sent out "un-announcement cards" with a simple message: "Single. Picked the wrong guy. Gave him the wrong finger. Thanks for your support."
Yeah, I'm working hard today.

Runaway Bride
So...do you feel bad for her, or is she a criminal?
I love the fact she went to Vegas...at least she ran away right.
And for the record, I think she just cracked.
I Am Woman!
As in the only one.
I am reigning queen of the office until Thursday - craziness ensues. I have a new friend in NYC named Vinnie - oddly appropriate. He calls me 'Corny'...I let him because he's moving our model on Friday. Or his goons are, as the case may be.
AND...
SAN FRANCISCO!!!!!!!
I can't wait for the first of June...
